The CoE conducts research in blockchain in varieties of aspects like
scalability, performance, accuracy, security, privacy, and
applications of the technologies in various domains.
Applications for TWO PhD Fellowships, instituted under the BCoE
at IIT Bombay, are sought for research in areas like foundations of
distributed systems, scalability of distributed ledger applications,
cryptocurrencies, as well as various challenging applications in
banking, healthcare, transport, etc. Prospective PhD candidates should
have a strong background in Computer Science (a master or
bachelor); and interest in at least one of the following areas:
- security & privacy in blockchains
- applied cryptography: ZKP, MPC, mixnets, ...
- distributed systems: platforms/frameworks
- economics: volatality in crypto, event correlations, analytics, ...
- CBDC, private currencies, IOU networks
- smart contract verification
- applications of blockchain: healthcare, agriculture, NFT, asset management, supply chains
